Spiritual Abuse Pt17 (John 12:42-43)

Brother Nathan Bryant, August 8, 2018
Part of the Spiritual Abuse series, preached at a Midweek Meeting service

"…to even confess Him would a-been to--to be put out of the synagogues. And then if you’re out from the church, they--they thought you had no--no chance for redemption. If you didn’t belong to one of their sect, like Pharisee, Sadducee, or something, there was no redemption if you was outside of that. And if they had the right, the keys, and they could just kick you out if they wanted to. That was their own saying. No wonder Jesus said, “You, by your tradition, has made the Word of God of no effect.” See?
And now it’s repeated again, ‘cause we all know history repeats itself every so often. And it’s sad to say, but it was prophesied to repeat, and it has done it again."

John 12:42-43

42Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. (KJV)
